Welcome to Professor Ha Tutoring Center
The largest and the oldest tutoring center in Alameda. Est.1991
Who We Are
The Professor Ha Tutoring Center was founded in 1991 and has been serving the local community for over 25 years.
The Tutoring Center is located at the corner of Oak St and Central Ave, directly across from Alameda High School. We have 6 separate classrooms to provide space for group and individual studies. Our classrooms are brightly lighted and well equiped. In addition, we have a computer room for multimedia work, an atrium for the student to relax in, and a beautiful garden that serves as an outdoor classroom/playground. The student can take a break by playing a quick basketball game in the back court.
The Center carries various textbooks used by local schools as well as magazines and children books. We provide Wi-fi access and many educational games/toys. The students have access to all the tools necessary to complete their school assignments. The Center is a place where the student have a comfortable place to think, create, explore and complete their work afterschool.

What We Do
Our classroom is set up for small group tutoring. The students will be watched by a teacher in the room, and there are teachers who move around for assistance. The student simply just raise his hand, and one of us will come to work with him until he understands what to do. We periodically gather a small group of similar students together for a mini-lecture on a new concept or a word problem. The students learn something useful even though their teacher has not taught them yet. We also conduct short math contests to keep the class fun and competitive.
During the summer, we hold our Enrichment Program to review past materials and teach new concepts. We cover Math, English and Science for Elementary, Middle and High School grades. This program is designed to help the students shore up their foundation and stay productive during the summer. In addition, we offer year round AP and SAT test preparation help. We can assist the student in all AP classes, and the SAT 1, SAT 2 and ACT tests. We also help the students prepare for the private High School entrance exams, the GED test and the IHSEE.
